273,590 Penang Recipients to Receive i-Sejahtera Payments from March 12

A total of 273,590 recipients of the i-Sejahtera programme in Penang will receive payments for Phase 1 of this year via electronic funds transfer (EFT) from March 12, with a total allocation of RM49.37 million. The payment will benefit recipients from various programmes, including the Elderly Appreciation Programme, Single Mother Assistance Programme, Suri Emas Programme and the Disabled Persons (OKU) Assistance Programme.

GEORGE TOWN: A total of 273,590 i-Sejahtera programme recipients in Penang will receive payments for Phase 1 of this year via electronic funds transfer from March 12, with a total allocation of RM49.37mil.

State social development, welfare and non-Islamic affairs committee chairman Lim Siew Khim said the payment will benefit 205,042 recipients from the Elderly Appreciation Programme , Single Mother Assistance Programme , Suri Emas Programme and the Disabled Persons Assistance Programme . Applications submitted after Feb 10 will be processed in Phase 2/2025 and the public can register for the i-Sejahtera programmes on the"Payments will only be disbursed to new applicants who register before June 30 each year," she said in a statement on Sunday .

She also advised the public to check their payment status from March 20 via the website. Applicants are encouraged to reach out to the nearest Unity Government Service Centre for further assistance. Lim also urged applicants to update their bank account details to ensure smooth processing of the assistance. – Bernama
