A 101-year-old woman recently embraced Islam in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia . The news went viral on social media after being shared by prominent Islam ic preacher Firdaus Wong on his Facebook account. Firdaus assisted the elderly woman in reciting the Islam ic declaration of faith (shahada) in Arabic, followed by its translation in the Cantonese dialect.
According to Firdaus, the woman converted after years of receiving Islamic teachings from her son, Datuk Mohd Daud Leong, who is also a Muslim convert. Firdaus confirmed that there was no coercion involved and the woman willingly accepted Islam
