PENAMPANG: Some 100 individuals in Penampang will benefit from a four-day modern agriculture course conducted by a local social enterprise and innovator “Farm Tokou”, which exposes them to modern aquaponics and IoT Smart Farming.
Science, Technology and Innovation Deputy Minister Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup said 20 of them will be selected to receive an aquaponics system starter kit as well as mentorship and entrepreneurship courses to jump start their smart farming business. Arthur explained that Farm Tokou or GE Nitrate Solutions were among recipients of the Malaysian Social Innovation Initiative Programme Fund and was allocated RM206,000 to conduct the course.
