The worst TV sitcom catchphrases.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Sitcoms can be some of the funniest series on television with their low-commitment plots and ongoing gags, and catchphrases are definitely a major part of their popularity, however some sitcom catchphrases are simply too awful to bear. These are the types of catchphrases that were repeated too often, became aged over time, or were ultimately never too funny in the first place.
9 "D'Oh." It's impossible for this catchphrase to not remain in popular culture when the series it comes from is still airing after over 30 years. Homer Simpson, from the animated sitcom The Simpsons, says this phrase frequently throughout the series. Though just a brief line, not much more than a single sound, this catchphrase has become a staple of The Simpsons because of how it essentially reinforces Homer's less-than-intelligent personality.
6 "Cut It Out!" Another sitcom full of catchphrases that only serve to make this one look worse is Full House. While almost every character had their own little phrase, this one was Uncle Joey's, and it was often met with groans of displeasure rather than cheers. This is mostly because of how corny the line is, especially in comparison to Michelle Tanner's "You Got It, Dude!" catchphrase.
