INDIANAPOLIS — One person is dead and five others are injured, including an IMPD officer, after a shooting on the east side of Indianapolis early Sunday morning. , near North Mitthoefer Road, around 1:30 a.m. March 24 when two off-duty officers were working security in full uniform at a nearby bar and heard a disturbance in the parking lot.
"We're sorry that someone lost their life here tonight. I'm also very happy that our officer did not sustain any significant injuries, although we know that there's a long road ahead for him as he deals with the emotional impact of this situation," IMPD Chief Chris Bailey."I'm proud of our response."is investigating the incident and will release the identity of the victim who died once family has been notified.
