IMPD says one person was killed in what police believe was a targeted attack in the 4800 block of Pebble Way East on Indy's northwest side.

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are investigating after a person was killed in a shooting on Indy's northwest side Saturday night. 4800 block of Pebble Way

on a report of shots fired. According to IMPD Captain Don Weilhammer, while officers were en route to the scene, they were notified that there was a possible person shot at the location. Upon arrival, officers could not locate any victims until another caller informed officers that they were near the location of the shooting. A person near the scene of the shooting told officers which apartment they heard the shots come from.

A supervisor then gave officers permission to kick down the door of the apartment. Once officers broke down the door, they discovered an adult male with a gunshot wound. EMS pronounced the victim dead at the scene. While officers were on the scene, police say they heard shots coming northeast of the location. Police are unsure whether the shots fired were related to the shooting. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Det. Shem Ragsdale at 317-327-3475.
