ALOR SETAR: Sultan Kedah, Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah berkenan mencemar duli menghadiri Majlis Kurniaan Keluarga Diraja Sultan Negeri Kedah dan Majlis Berbuka Puasa yang berlangsung di Balai Santapan Besar, Istana Anak Bukit, di sini, malam tadi.

Majlis diadakan sebagai tanda keprihatinan baginda terhadap rakyat Kedah, khususnya dalam bulan Ramadan yang penuh keberkatan, selain meneruskan tradisi mulia institusi diraja dalam mengeratkan hubungan dengan rakyat.

Turut berangkat, Raja Muda Kedah, Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah dan Tunku Mahkota Kedah, Tunku Shazuddin Ariff selain barisan kepimpinan negeri serta pegawai kerajaan. Sebanyak 1,200 kotak kurniaan berupa barangan makanan diagihkan kepada rakyat yang memerlukan di 12 daerah di Kedah. Setiap daerah menerima 100 kotak yang akan disampaikan melalui Pegawai Daerah masing-masing bermula hari ini.

Sebagai simbolik, Sultan Sallehuddin bersama Raja Muda Kedah dan Tunku Mahkota Kedah turut berkenan menyampaikan kotak kurniaan kepada sebahagian penerima. Majlis kemudian diteruskan dengan berbuka puasa bersama baginda, diikuti solat Maghrib berjemaah sebelum para tetamu menikmati santapan utama yang disediakan.-UTUSAN
