Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi assures that national border security remains intact despite ongoing floods, with standard operating procedures in place for affected students and displaced individuals.

The safety at Malaysia 's national borders remains at its highest level despite several states being hit by floods, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee, Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He mentioned that the control at borders continues as usual, involving the duties of the Malaysia n Armed Forces (ATM) and Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

The Commander of the Southern Command of the People's Volunteer Corps (PGA) Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid, stated that five of the thirteen static posts of the PGA are closed due to floods at the Malaysia-Thailand border. Additionally, the Ministry of Education (KPM) has issued guidelines and standard operating procedures to assist students affected by the floods. The Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations are scheduled from December 2, 2024, to February 6, 2025. As of 3:15 PM, a total of 49,017 affected individuals from 14,901 families have been relocated to 400 temporary relief centers in six affected states
