PM Anwar to hold talks with state leaders on energy crisis, economy, says Fahmi

March 31 (Reuters) - Microsoft, Chevron ⁠and investment fund Engine No. 1 have entered ⁠into an exclusivity agreement for power generation and supply, ‌the three companies said on Tuesday.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to meet all menteri besar and chief ministers on Thursday to discuss the global energy crisis and its impact on the national economy.told a weekly press conference here today that the meeting will examine several matters, including measures and joint efforts that the Federal and state governments can undertake in addressing the current situation.

Fahmi, who is also the Madani government spokesperson, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof is expected to hold a press conference on Thursday afternoon, with a possible follow-up statement from the Prime Minister. He said the National Economic Action Council meeting scheduled for next week will also continue to assess current developments before any further announcement is made. On March 27, Anwar said he would call a meeting with menteris besar, chief ministers and key political leaders to receive briefings on the current state of the economy following the conflict in the Middle East.
