Queen Elizabeth Hospital II faces critical shortage of medical staff hindering its potential
Kota Kinabalu : Queen Elizabeth Hospital II , recognised as one of Sabah ’s leading medical facilities and earmarked to become the state’s first dedicated cardiac centre, is being constrained by a critical shortage of medical and support staff.
Liberal Democratic Party Secretary-General Datuk Chin Shu Ying said the manpower shortage is the main obstacle preventing the hospital from operating at its full potential, despite steadily increasing patient numbers each year. Advertisement The matter was raised during a recent courtesy call by an LDP delegation to QEHII Director Dr Ferro Firdaus Ibrahim, where they discussed the hospital’s future development plans and key healthcare concerns affecting the public.
The delegation was led by Chin, who is also Nominated Assemblyman, and included party Vice-President David Wong, Vice-President and Likas Community Development Officer Jacky Chin, Women’s Chief and Likas Community Development Leader Glenna Wong, and Women’s Wing Secretary Kuo Pei Ling.
