The Southern Tigers beat Kuching City FC 2-0 in the final at National Stadium, Bukit Jalil tonight to win their fourth consecutive Malaysia Cup title, the only club to have ever achieved the feat. Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the declaration was made with the consent of Johor Regent, Tunku Mahkota Ismail in appreciation to the Johor people and Southern Tiger fans for their undivided support to the team.
“The win is a gift for Bangsa Johor and the fans who have stood united behind the team through thick and thin, in every match and season,” he posted on Facebook last night, as he also congratulated the players, coaches and team management and the JDT farternity.
