LONDON, April 15 (Reuters) - Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said he was hugely grateful to his players for the boost they had given the club after a gritty 1-0 aggregate win over Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday earned them a place in the Champions League semi-finals.
KOTA KINABALU: Lahad Datu in Sabah may become a satellite and rocket launch centre in South-East Asia within the next few years, says Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor . The Sabah Chief Minister said Lahad Datu has the potential following final studies conducted by the state government and the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry.
“In the next few years, if there are no obstacles, Lahad Datu will be the best location to serve as a satellite and rocket launch centre for South-East Asia,” he said at a thanksgiving and Hari Raya open house in Lahad Datu yesterday. If the plans materialise in two or three years, he said it will be a catalyst for development in Lahad Datu, attracting many visitors, scientists and astrophysicists to the district. Although many states had lobbied to host the launch site, he said Lahad Datu is the most suitable location for this project. He said the state government will continue to bring development to Lahad Datu and prioritise the well-being of the people in the district. He added that the current state administration has a clear direction for the people and has worked in their best interests while achieving many successes for Sabah.
