GUA MUSANG: Residents of Kampung Tanah Putih here have been experiencing water supply disruptions, attributed to unstable pressure at the water treatment plant as well as the frequent bursting of main pipes.
Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd said in a statement today that after the Bukit Chupak water treatment plant began operations in February, increased pressure in areas supplied by the Sungai Ketil plant led to near-daily main pipe bursts, particularly in Bandar Baru. "Frequent main pipe bursts, along with a leak in the tank at Sekolah Menengah Sains Gua Musang, have also affected the stability of the main tank at the Sungai Ketil water treatment plant. "Kampung Tanah Putih is a high-lying area at the end of the supply line, and when disruptions or frequent pipe bursts occur, it can take time for supply to return to normal," AKSB said in the statement on Thursday . AKSB said it had taken proactive steps to minimise disruptions, including repairing burst main pipes, deploying water tankers, boosting output at the Sungai Ketil water treatment plant, and regularly inspecting and maintaining valves.Follow us on our official
