KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 — Popular Indian playback singer Jubin Nautiyal’s return to Malaysia is shaping up to be more than just another concert stop, with the artiste expressing a growing curiosity about the country’s music and cultural landscape.

Making his second appearance in Malaysia ahead of his concert at Mega Star Arena KL in Sungei Wang Plaza here tomorrow, Jubin said he has recently been introduced to Malaysian folk music and is now keen to discover more.

“I have just got introduced to one or two folk songs from Malaysia, so now I am going to start getting to know ,” he said at a press conference here today. The singer said his first visit to Malaysia about four years ago was focused mainly on performing, but this time, the experience feels different as he looks to connect more deeply with the local cultural scene.

Raataan Lambiyan , Jubin has garnered millions of streams worldwide and built a strong following through his emotive vocals and romantic numbers featured in various Bollywood films.

As for his concert tomorrow, Jubin said it will be a two-and-a-half to three-hour show featuring up to 70 songs through full renditions and medleys spanning romantic ballads, dance tracks, classic hits and interactive singalongs. Jubin also revealed that he recently began recording with legendary Indian music composer AR Rahman, describing the collaboration as a significant moment in his career.
