LONDON (Reuters) - Mike Lynch, the tech tycoon who died when his luxury yacht sank off Sicily, spent more than a decade building Britain's biggest software company and almost as long again fighting charges he had inflated its value to secure a multi-billion-pound sale.
MELAKA : The private sector in Melaka is not required to observe the additional public holiday this Monday to celebrate the 75th birthday of the Melaka Yang di-Pertua Negeri.
In a statement issued on Thursday evening , the Peninsular Malaysia Labour Department said the additional public holiday is optional and not mandatory for private sector employees. "However, any employer who chooses to observe the 75th birthday of the Melaka Yang di-Pertua Negeri as a public holiday must grant paid leave to employees on Aug 26, 2024," the statement read.
"Employers may, with employee consent, substitute the additional holiday with another day in accordance with Section 60D of the Employment Act 1955," it added. The Melaka government had previously declared Monday as an additional public holiday in conjunction with the 75th birthday of the Melaka Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Melaka, in line with Section 9 of the Holidays Act 1951 . – BernamaCandidate for Mahkota polls should come from Wanita Umno, says Noraini Ahmad
