RETIRED Hong Kong actor Liu Wai-hung, fondly known as Ah Chan, has once again shown his creative touch in the business world by drawing the public to his newly-opened restaurant in Malaysia . Nanyang Siang Pau reported that the 68-year-old showed up in a Rolls-Royce when he was inspecting the Ling Long Fish Ball restaurant in Cheras in a video uploaded on YouTube recently that has garnered more than 100,000 views.
When asked about the car, Liu admitted that he borrowed it from his friend to make the video content on his restaurant. “Malaysians have a habit. No matter they are rich or not so rich, they will eat at your place if your food is good,” said Liu who had also opened the Xing Cantonese Cuisine restaurant in Kuala Lumpur last year.He was swindled by shareholders while running a karaoke business and he was declared bankrupt in 1999 after he was unable to repay a debt of HK$400,000. Liu’s health also deteriorated when he suffered a minor stroke causing him to have mobility problems.
