A source said the student had allegedly climbed up to get the shoes after they were thrown onto the roof, but slipped and fell in the process. In an update today, 8 May, Melaka Tengah district police chief ACP Christopher Patit said initial investigations found that the boy had thrown another student's shoes onto the roof before climbing up himself to retrieve them "The roof collapsed as the boy attempted to climb back up to the first floor of the school building.
