The beta feature connects women passengers only with women driver-partners.
In conjunction with International Women's Day 2026, Grab Malaysia has rolled out a new ride option aimed at giving women peace of mind while travelling aloneKnown as Women-Only Rides , the service matches women passengers exclusively with women driver-partners.
For now, the feature is available only through Advance Booking in the Klang Valley. According to Grab, the idea came after both women passengers and driver-partners expressed interest in having an additional safety option, especially when travelling alone. The ride option will only appear to women passengers in the app and will connect them solely with verified women driver-partners, adding an extra layer of assurance on both sides of the journey. Grab Malaysia managing director Adelene Foo said the launch is part of the company's efforts to support women through its #SisBoleh initiative"This launch deepens our longstanding commitment to safety and empowerment. Built on Grab's existing safety infrastructure, the Women-Only Rides builds on our #SisBoleh initiative which started in 2023," she said, emphasising that improving trust on the platform benefits both passengers and driver-partners."By strengthening trust, we create mutual benefits: greater comfort for women passengers and more earning opportunities for women driver-partners. When we prioritise a woman's peace of mind, we also support her path to financial independence," she added. The launch of the feature was held during Grab's International Women's Day celebration, hosted by the company's senior women leadership for its women driver-partners. According to Grab, the event highlighted a shared commitment to creating safer and more inclusive mobility for women across Malaysia. Alongside the new ride feature, Grab also launched the Women Driver Acquisition campaign, which runs from 8 March to 30 September 2026The initiative aims to encourage more women across Malaysia to become driver-partners while expanding flexible earning opportunities through the platform.Beyond rewards, Grab said the campaign aims to bring more women into a community where they can earn flexibly while feeling safer and more supported on the road. Grab said that this campaign operates on top of its existing safety architecture designed to protect both passengers and driver-partners"Quietly working in the background, these safety features help ensure that every Women-Only Rides and every Grab ride feels more secure, so women can focus on where they are going and what they want to achieve, rather than how they will get home," said Adelene.Grab Malaysia Continues To Champion Inclusivity For Over 5,000 PWD Partners"Kenapa Warna Tak Sama?!" — Family Drama Unfolds And Things Heat Up In Watsons' Raya FilmRead the full storyThis Programme Turns Orang Asli Women Into Paid Teachers In Their Own Villages
