Pahang has been recording active gold production operations last year, with an inferred gold resource of 63.44 metric tonnes, valued at RM10.8 billion. The Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail revealed this during the state assembly sitting.
Pahang recorded seven active gold production operations last year, yielding 720.8 kilograms of gold valued at RM155.6 million, according to Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail. He noted that a gold belt has been established in the central region of the Peninsula, covering areas like Lipis, Raub, Maran, Pekan, and Rompin. The Department of Mineral and Geoscience (JMG) estimated Pahang 's inferred gold resource at 63.44 metric tonnes, valued at approximately RM10.8 billion.
In response to a question about the expected gold deposits and how long they would last, Wan Rosdy emphasized the unpredictability of the mine's lifespan due to various factors, including reserves, scale of operations, production rate, economic considerations, policies, and advancements in technology. Additionally, royalties from Pahang Gold sales exceeded RM10 million as of November, with RM5 million recorded in 2023
