Sepang police have confirmed that a heart attack was the cause of a policeman's death during marching training, denying rumors of abuse or mistreatment.

SEPANG: Police have confirmed a heart attack as the cause of a policeman’s death during marching training on Wednesday while denying rumours that he died from abuse or mistreatment .

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Norhizam Bahaman said a post-mortem determined heart disease as the cause of death.

“A detailed explanation regarding the matter was delivered in person by a forensic pathology specialist to the deceased's family,” he said in a statement on Friday. “Sepang police denies the baseless allegations that the incident involved elements of abuse or mistreatment," he said. ACP Norhizam said a committee has been formed to conduct further investigations in line with standard operating procedures to ensure every aspect of the incident is thoroughly examined.

ACP Norhizam advised the public not to spread unverified speculation to protect the welfare and respect the sensitivities of the deceased’s family, adding that the police extend their condolences to the family of the deceased.
