The Ministry of Education reports a high number of applications for Year 1 admission in 2027, while the Women, Family, and Community Development Ministry highlights the success of its economic empowerment programs.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has reported a significant number of applications for Year 1 admission in 2027, indicating a strong positive response from parents. Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh revealed that as of March 2nd, a total of 351,789 applications had been recorded for the upcoming intake. This includes a notable 51,457 applications for children aged five and above.

Wong emphasized that this positive reception reflects parental confidence in their children's preparedness for school and the overall effectiveness of the education system. He made these remarks while concluding the debate on the motion of thanks for the Royal address concerning the Ministry of Education in Dewan Negara. The government is committed to supporting this surge in applications by increasing accessibility to preschool education. This will be achieved through the expansion of preschool facilities within primary schools, secondary schools, vocational colleges, matriculation colleges, and Teacher Education Institutes (IPG). The existing infrastructure includes 10,514 preschool classes across 6,469 institutions. The government has concrete plans to introduce an additional 150 new classes in 2025 and a further 350 classes in 2026. This expansion will ultimately increase the total government preschool capacity to 256,894 places, with the current enrolment standing at 217,041 pupils. This proactive approach underscores the government's commitment to accommodating the growing demand for early childhood education and providing ample opportunities for young children to prepare for primary school.\Simultaneously, the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry is making strides in empowering women through various economic initiatives. A significant achievement is the average monthly income increase experienced by the participants, ranging between RM1,000 and RM1,500. This positive outcome demonstrates the effectiveness of the ministry's efforts in promoting women's economic independence and fostering entrepreneurial spirit within the community. The ministry's continued dedication to these programs highlights its commitment to supporting women's economic advancement and creating sustainable opportunities for their financial well-being.\The combined efforts of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development highlight the government's holistic approach to addressing the needs of children and women. Simultaneously, the focus on women's economic empowerment demonstrates the government's commitment to social and economic equity. By providing women with the resources and training they need to succeed in business, the government is not only improving their financial stability but also contributing to the overall economic growth of the nation. The success of these programs is evident in the positive impact they are having on the lives of participants, as measured by increased income and improved business skills.
