Singer Eda shares her joy of celebrating Aidilfitri with her family after being released from a Thai prison, reflecting on the challenges and expressing gratitude for the support received.
Wan Norsahidah Azlin Wan Ismail, known as Eda , describes this year's Syawal as the most meaningful, as she celebrates Aidilfitri with her husband and children after enduring a difficult experience. Last year, she was separated from her family and spent the Hari Raya celebrations in a Thai prison, an event that she will not easily forget. Reflecting on the challenging circumstances, Eda recalls that Ramadan and Syawal of the previous year were filled with sorrow and separation.
She and her husband were apart from their family for nine long months in Narathiwat Provincial Prison. However, fate brought a turn of fortune, and this Aidilfitri marks a new beginning filled with happiness after her return to her family. Speaking from the heart, she expresses her gratitude and relief, saying, Alhamdulillah, after everything that happened, my husband and I are finally able to be with our children and family to celebrate Hari Raya. This Syawal truly holds a significant meaning for us. I am so grateful.\Eda further explains that the festive atmosphere of Aidilfitri this year feels exceptionally different as she is able to once again enjoy the long-awaited celebrations. Traditional dishes such as nasi dagang, ketupat, and rendang become symbols of simple joy, deeply meaningful to her. She cherished her moments in Kota Bharu with her family this year, as this was the atmosphere she missed most previously. Eda also expresses her appreciation for the unwavering support from her fans throughout her challenging life journey. Their support is very meaningful. It gave me the strength to keep going and continue my career in Kelantan dialect songs, she says. She determined to start anew and make her bitter experiences the beginning of a stronger path in the local entertainment industry. \On August 6, 2025, Eda Ezrin, her husband, and four other companions were fully released from detention at the Narathiwat Central Prison in Thailand. Their release came after the court rejected the prosecutor's request to extend the appeal period for the sixth time. The entire experience has shaped her perspective on life and strengthened her resolve. Eda is now committed to focusing on her family and her musical career. She looks forward to the future with hope and optimism, ready to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. The ordeal has served as a powerful reminder of the importance of family, faith, and the support of others. She wishes to channel her story into helping others who may be facing adversity and uses her platform to raise awareness about the struggles of others who may have faced similar circumstances and to bring awareness to justice
