Google has unveiled the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL, showcasing significant upgrades including a new Tensor G5 chip, brighter displays, enhanced cameras, and 25W wireless charging.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL, the company's flagship smartphones, are finally official and, as anticipated, lead the new series. Arriving soon in Malaysia with pre-orders commencing today, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL bring a suite of upgrades. One prominent upgrade is the new Google Tensor G5 processor, the driving force behind the entire Pixel 10 series, both Pro and non-Pro variants.

Google boasts that this new chip features a TPU that's up to 60% more powerful and a CPU that's up to 34% faster than its predecessor. Built on TSMC's 3nm technology, Tensor G5 also boasts a brand-new ISP that promises improvements to image and video quality. Moreover, Google emphasizes that Tensor G5 is the first chip to run Gemini Nano, powering many of Pixel's on-device generative AI features. Further bolstering this, Google claims that Tensor G5 enables Gemini Nano to operate up to 2.6x faster and 2x more efficiently for features such as Pixel Screenshots and Recorder. Voice Translate, Call Notes with actions, Personal Journal, natural voice edition with Gboard, Scam Detection, and the newly announced Magic Cue are among the features slated to benefit from the synergy of Tensor G5 and Gemini Nano.In another notable change, Google has increased the storage option for the 10 Pro XL. The lowest storage capacity for the 10 Pro XL is now 256GB, unlike the 10 Pro which still starts at 128GB. As their names suggest, the Google Pixel 10 Pro series is available in two screen sizes. Similar to last year, the Pixel 10 Pro features a 6.3-inch display, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL offers a larger 6.8-inch screen. Beyond their sizes, the Super Actua Display on both Pixel 10 Pro models bears a close resemblance to their 2023 counterparts in several ways. Notably, they both still boast an LTPO OLED panel with Smooth Display feature, capable of delivering a dynamic refresh rate range of 1Hz to 120Hz. Google continues to rely on Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 to safeguard the screens on both Pixel 10 Pro models. Even their resolutions – 1280 x 2856 for the 10 Pro and 1344 x 2992 for the 10 Pro XL – remain unchanged. What sets the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL apart, however, is their enhanced brightness. Specifically, both models can now reach a peak brightness of 3300 nits, compared to 3000 nits on the Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL.Unlike the non-Pro model, which receives a new telephoto camera, the camera changes on the Pixel 10 Pro devices appear more subtle. Among these changes is an improved optical image stabilization module for their 50MP main camera, which is said to have double the compensation range. For the 10 Pro and Pro XL's 48MP telephoto cameras, Google has boosted their capabilities through the new Super Res Zoom feature. This feature allows users to zoom up to 100x while leveraging the new Tensor G5 processor to help preserve image detail. The 10 Pro and Pro XL continue to feature a 48MP ultrawide camera and a 42MP autofocus selfie camera positioned at the top of their displays. The arrival of the new Pixel 10 Series also marks the debut of Google's new Pixelsnap family of magnetic-based accessories, which effectively serves as Google's answer to Apple's MagSafe technology. Included in this lineup are Qi 2-compliant wireless chargers. However, only the 10 Pro XL supports the Qi 2.2 standard, enabling it to charge wirelessly at a maximum speed of 25W. The rest of the Pixel 10 Series family members are limited to the Qi 2.0 standard, maxing out at 15W. For those curious about the battery life of the Pixel 10 Pro models, Google claims that both the 10 Pro and Pro XL can deliver over 24 hours of usage. This duration can be extended to up to 100 hours with the Extreme Battery Saver mode. Regardless of the variant, all models are available in Moonstone, Jade, Porcelain, and Obsidian. Pre-orders are open, and to celebrate the launch, Google is currently offering a free storage upgrade worth up to RM1,200 for the Pixel 10 Pro family
