MADRID, April 21 (Reuters) - Real Madrid secured a 2-1 home victory over struggling Alaves in LaLiga on Tuesday with goals from Kylian ‌Mbappe and Vinicius Jr to end a four-match winless run in all competitions.

CYBERJAYA : Most pet owners are well aware of how to care for their pets during unpredictable weather, says Department of Veterinary Services director-general Datuk Dr Mohd Noor Hisham Mohd Haron. He said the department is not worried about the health and safety of such animals among caring pet owners , as most animals are placed in indoor air-conditioned spaces.

“Most pet owners love their animals, some even more than their kids. We also advocate for responsible pet ownership. “However, for those who neglect their animals by abandoning them in hot locations and uncomfortable environments, or subjecting them to poor treatment, we are prepared to enforce the law,” he said after the launch of the Veterinary Day 2026 celebration yesterday. The celebration, themed “Veterinarians: Guardians of Food and Health”, was launched by Agriculture and Food Security Ministry deputy secretary-general Datuk Luqman Ahmad. Mohd Noor Hisham noted that breeders in the commercial breeding system possess extensive experience in caring for farm animals. “We also promote a good breeding system that controls pollution and odour and ensures that the animals have housing in a friendly environment with temperature control and proper humidity levels. “This is common for chickens and pigs with modern farming. For ruminants, it is more focused on dairy farming using a closed house system. “Some of them don’t apply the full closed-house system, but it’s a modified version that still aims to provide adequate shelter and welfare for the animals,” he said. Mohd Noor Hisham also spoke about monitoring diseases among animals, stating that the department has a published and disseminated list of reportable diseases for all farmers.
