The Royal Malaysia Police's K9 unit showed exactly what they're made of during a recent special demonstration for Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchayon Monday, 16 February, the Deputy IGP was conducting an official working visit to assess the readiness and operational capabilities of the police dog unit at the Bukit Aman Police Training Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
The K9 unit, which operates under the Criminal Investigation Department's Technical Assistance Division , plays a crucial role in supporting crime-fighting efforts, with highly trained dogs working alongside their handlers in various operations.Photos from the session showed the dogs responding precisely to every command, sprinting up ramps, navigating complex obstacles, and even leaping through a flaming hoop!The exercises were carried out to test the discipline, coordination, and efficiency between the dogs and their handlers, as they would be used in detection work and special response tasks Concluding the visit, the Deputy IGP, accompanied by CID director Datuk M Kumar, met with the handlers and their canines.
