Two lecturers from a statutory body in Terengganu have been remanded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly soliciting and receiving bribes totaling approximately RM30,000 in exchange for issuing competency certificates. The suspects, aged in their 20s and 40s, were arrested after giving statements at the Terengganu MACC office. Investigations suggest they received between RM900 and RM1,500 from around 31 participants for expedited certificate approvals. The MACC is investigating the possibility of a larger scale operation and will verify the authenticity of certificates issued by the agency.
Menurut sumber, kedua-dua suspek lelaki berusia lingkungan 20-an dan 40-an ditahan kira-kira pukul 12 tengah hari semalam ketika hadir memberi keterangan di pejabat SPRM Terengganu.
