A local entrepreneur in Langkawi, Wiwik Iswandari, has been turning waste plastic into unique handbags for years. He started by collecting hundreds of kilograms of discarded plastic and turning it into plabrik bags, which are made without any sewing. The bags are formed and shaped using a scraper and are then sealed with a buckle and chain. The bags can be customized with different colors and patterns by folding and creasing the plastic. The process of making a plabrik bag takes less than an hour.
