KOTA KINABALU: Police are investigating a gang bullying case believed to have occurred near a school compound here last week. The probe follows a report lodged on May 23 by a 13-year-old girl who was the victim in the May 22 incident.

Kota Kinabalu acting OCPD Supt Syed Lot Syed Abdul Rahman said the victim was attacked at around 8am by five girls she knew.

"She said the girls beat her, resulting in bruises on many parts of her body," he said in a statement Thursday . Investigations revealed the girls were part of a chat group called"Angel", though they studied in different schools. Supt Syed Lot said the incident reportedly stemmed from dissatisfaction following a misunderstanding among the girls.

"According to the victim, she was brought to the area by two suspects before the others ambushed and attacked her," he said. Witnesses, including students and members of the public, recorded the incident and shared videos on social media.

The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting and Section 506 for criminal intimidation.81% pct of employers rate disabled persons' work ethics on par with other workers, says Stats DeptPM Anwar to launch KL International Book Fair tomorrow
