PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli says he did did not purposely wait for the new Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner to report for work before handing over additional evidence in the ongoing probe related to the RM1.1bil investment with United Kingdom-based Arm Holdings.
PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli says he did did not purposely wait for the new Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner to report for work before handing over additional evidence in the ongoing probe related to the RM1.1bil investment with United Kingdom-based Arm Holdings.
“We actually submitted the letter on Sunday and the MACC were the ones that set the timing for today,” he said when met outside the MACC headquarters here Thursday . “From my end, we gave our full cooperation in this investigation. We also need to move forward in this matter and if there are any charges, we will fight our case in court,” he said.
He added that the decisions involved in the agreement did not only involve him but also three others including the Prime Minister and then investment, trade and industry minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
“So the evidence and documents that I submitted earlier include documents which, in my view, show that the decision followed the proper procedures, as well as the involvement of these three individuals. “I think Datuk Seri Zafrul has been called before, but after my statement, MACC may decide to call him again because, based on what I submitted today, it is clear to me that the decision did go through the proper process,” he said.
In an unrelated matter, he said that Sunday’s announcement on his political direction would be “extraordinary”.
“That, you’ll have to wait until Sunday for. If it were just an ordinary announcement, I would simply do it on TikTok,” he said. On speculation about whether he would leave PKR, he declined to elaborate further and left it open to interpretation.
“That is up to people’s own interpretations. And of course, it is an advantage for a politician like me to make sure the public and the media keep guessing until Sunday,” he said.
