“May this success continue to inspire efforts to strengthen the building of a more sustainable, inclusive and prosperous nation for future generations,” the Prime Minister said in a Facebook post. Last Tuesday, the national sewerage company was named winner of the Sustainable Development Goal 6 Award at the Global Water Awards, held in conjunction with the Global Water Summit aimed at recognising excellence, leadership in sustainability and technological innovation in the global water industry.
The award, presented by Global Water Intelligence, recognised IWK’s entry titled Solar-powered Sanitation: No Upfront Cost, Cuts Emissions, which showcased how the use of renewable energy can strengthen the operational performance of sewage treatment, while driving sustainable infrastructure development and enhancing financial resilience. — Bernama
