PETALING JAYA: Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamarauddin calls for a thorough investigation into the incident where nine family members drowned after their vehicle fell from a ferry at Triso in Sarawak on Friday (Jan 1).
Zuraida also offered her condolences to the family of the victims who were in the four-wheel drive vehicle."I believe a thorough investigation will be conducted by the relevant authorities to avoid such accidents from happening again and enhance the quality of safety.
It was reported that a baby was among nine people believed to have died when a 4WD vehicle plunged into the Batang Lupar river after it fell off a Triso ferry on Friday.The victims have been identified as the driver of the vehicle, Ronany Ting, 33; Siti Aisha Abdullah, 36; Nor Shuhada Mohamad, 16; Khairunnisa Muhamad, 14; Alvin Phang, 12; Wallace Phang and Mohd Aiman Mohd Hamdan, both seven; Muhd Mustaqim Mohd Hamdan, five; and the infant, Mohd Ahmad Mohd Hamdan.
