Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg wants governments and regulators to take a more active role in policing the internet, he wrote in the Washington Post on March 30, saying: “Lawmakers often tell me we have too much power over speech, and frankly I agree.”
He identified four areas for more regulation: harmful content; election integrity; privacy, using the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation as a guide; and data portability.
