A recent TikTok video by Zoo Negara has been making waves online after staff from the enclosure shared the lengths they go to when caring for the cleanliness
We all know that hygiene is extremely important, not only for one’s health, but also for making a good impression with anyone we come across. But who says this idea is only applicable to humans?
In conjunction with World Hippopotamus Day, Zoo Negara decided to give some insight into their routine with resident hippos Kibu and Rocky, by showing their teeth-cleaning process. Emerging from their watery home, Rocky gently approached the camera before opening his mouth wide, seemingly preparing to get his teeth scrubbed.
At the end of the session, the Zoo Negara worker fed the duo some cut pieces of sweet potato, as a little treat for being good when getting their teeth brushed. Immediately after, the pair return back to their watery sanctuary to resume a much-needed nap. “How nice for the animals at Zoo Negara, all of them get helpers who are full of love,” wrote one user.
