PUTRAJAYA: No new Covid-19 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, the first time there have been zero casualties since March 19.The number of new cases also hit its lowest level since the movement control order was implemented on March 18, with 36 new infections bringing the total to 5,425 nationwide.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the number of recoveries continues to outpace new infections, with 98 patients discharged today.A total of 2,041 patients or 38% remain warded with 45 in the intensive care unit and 28 in need of respiratory assistance. Speaking at his daily briefing here, however, Noor Hisham warned that the number of new cases could jump in a few weeks’ time.
