PONTIAN, April 28 — Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the coalition does not allow its component parties to hold separate discussions involving the distribution of seats for the upcoming state elections.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Umno president, said that the current talks only involved BN and Pakatan Harapan at the state level.“All decisions made during the discussions for the six states will then be brought to the highest level, where we will continue to deliberate the appropriate seats to contest.
Also present was Johor Umno chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and his deputy Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, who is also the Pontian Umno division chief. They were accompanied by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Benut state assemblyman Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad and MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong.
Ahmad Zahid, who is the deputy prime minister, also said that BN is not dismissing the possibility that it will stick to the status quo as its formula.“When both parties have agreed, only then will we find a solution that will be final and is the top choice,” he said.
