YouTube unveiled an original programming lineup that plays to the passions of its 2 billion global users—shows focused on music, video games, live events and home-grown YouTube personalities by DawnC331
Canadian pop star Justin Bieber, whose career launched on YouTube, is partnering with the video giant on an undisclosed project scheduled to premiere next year.
YouTube plans three documentary films, including one from Academy Award winning filmmaker Nick Reed. The film, chronicles the life of Claire Wineland, a YouTube creator and activist with cystic fibrosis, who died last year at the age of 21. She was taken off life support after suffering a massive stroke during lung-transplant surgery.
The return to home-grown talent and genres that resonate with YouTube's audiences — music, learning and personalities — reflect a refinement of the video giant's original content strategy.
