The group noted that with the ruling of the Supreme Court, Aiyedatiwa was only permitted to be sworn in once more since he already took the oath of office on December 27, 2023, after the demise of his erstwhile boss, late governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has adjourned a suit filed by civil society organisations in the state against the embattled 25 members of the state House of Assembly to April 26 for hearing.
