Youth justice reform advocates in Queensland say the government's decision to create a committee with a 'variety of bureaucrats' is unlikely to lead to real change.

Two high-profile victims of youth crime have criticised the Queensland government's parliamentary committee examining the issue.They say they need the government to hear them rather than just listenPremier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced yesterday that the special temporary committee would be chaired by independent Member for Noosa Sandy Bolton., said the committee should be led by a retired judge and include police and paramedics.

"I just think that these ideas will be thrown around and then they'll just be put to the side and tabled for another day. "We are working with the Voice for Victims group on how this group can work best," she told parliament yesterday.
