Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar’s resignation, which seems to be a gesture of protest, may signify that the Pakatan Harapan-controlled Parliament has caved in to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s insistence that Ronald Kiandee, an Umno defector who has joined Bersatu, remain as the chair of the Public Accounts Committee .
Is she saying that because the PAC chairperson switches camp, he has to lose his position? Does she want Harapan to lose out?This is the bigger problem. Harapan cannot stay united. Is this an overreaction by Nurul to show off her principles?Clever Voter: It is important to stay close to the inner circle. By cutting herself off completely, she will end up being forgotten, unless of course, her father is up there. Isn't that worse?Well done, Nurul. It’s sad to note that the right person to resign from this is Kiandee, who should have done the right thing by tendering his resignation as PAC head upon jumping from Umno to Bersatu.Bersatu is morphing into Umno 2.0.
