That’s all well and good, but what about a court-ordered mental health evaluation prior to release of any kind when the risk to our community is so high? In light of what happened in Uvalde, I would think the bond money should also have been set higher, or that more than 10 percent of a $50,000 bond should be required for release.

Perhaps more people would report threats and crimes if their voice was backed by the weight of hefty consequences.Re: “Biden’s failed policies inflicting pain,” Another View, Saturday: Dennis E. I recently returned from a trip to Europe, and countries there have the same rate or higher of inflation and very high gas prices.
