Yeoh urges public sector to take lead in hiring disabled folk

THE public sector has to achieve a rate of at least 1% employment for persons with disabilities so as to serve as an example to the private sector, said Hannah Yeoh. The deputy women, family and community development minister said as of December 31 last year, there were only 3,856 disabled employees – 0.31% – of the civil service’s total of 1,268,701 posts.
