MELAKA: Yayasan Melaka chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Ridhwan Mohd Ali has been appointed as the honorary advisor for the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NSCM) Melaka chapter.
NSCM managing director Dr M Murallitharan said the appointment of Mohd Ridhwan is to help spread awareness and assist cancer patients in the state.
Dr Murallitharan said many people are aware of reducing the risk of developing the disease and the appointment of local influential figures can help encourage early screenings as well as organising anti-cancer campaigns. “Strengthening prevention and early detection can be achieved through more combined effort and localised approach,” he said.
