Yasmien Kurdi has come a long way since placing first runner-up on the first season of “Starstruck,” and part of that journey is embracing her weirdness.

In an Instagram post, the Kapuso actress looked back on being called “weird” by her classmates and friends.

“Hanggang pumasok ako sa showbiz na akala kong mas maraming weird and out of this world mag isip na tao, pero weird pa din ang tingin nila [sa ‘kin],” she said. “Minsan tinatawag nila akong 'krung krung,' 'scaredy,' 'weirdo' at kung ano ano pa... Lagi nila ako pinagtatawanan pero di ko alam kung bakit,” she added.

At first, Yasmien thought that these people just did not like her, with the way they looked at and talked about her.The actress told her followers to not be bothered when they are called weird, “because we are all unique in our own way.”Yasmien also said to be kind to everyone. “Be proud of your uniqueness at weirdness,” she said.

“Keep doing your thing. One day it will all make sense. Just keep going! One day you may just change the world. Cheers!” she added.
