He doesn't expect him to return to the lineup on Monday when the Yankees open a three-game home series against Cleveland. on Thursday night, when he was replaced in right field in the bottom of the fourth inning after striking out in his only two at-bats. That came a day after he landed awkwardly on his right side when trying to steal third base at Minnesota on his 31st birthday.
In other injury news, outfielder Jake Bauers and the team are awaiting MRI results. Bauers, who was added to the 26-man roster Saturday, sustained a right knee contusion when he slammed into the left-field wall while making a catch.
