New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone recently met with GM Brian Cashman and owner Hal Steinbrenner, discussing the disappointing state of this team.
We can certainly imagine a tense atmosphere in that meeting, though. With the state of this ballclub, that’s for sure.
That includes conversations about certain players on the big-league roster as well as possible promotions from the Yankees’ farm system, something Boone was also asked about on Sunday. While the fan base is clamoring for drastic changes, Boone prefaced that the Yankees are considering how all decisions impact this team’s long-term future as well.
Those routine meetings will become even more contentious if the Yankees don’t turn their season around. Frankly, it might be too late for this team to go on the run necessary to make the playoffs and try to salvage an embarrassing campaign.
