Xiaomi's latest offering under its Mijia brand combines a rotating dual-stream nozzle, a color display, and smartphone integration to enhance oral hygiene. The device offers multiple pressure settings, interchangeable nozzles, and a modular tank system, all housed in a compact, waterproof design.
Xiaomi has expanded its ecosystem of smart personal care devices with the launch of the Mijia Smart Water Flosser Pro. This new product, now listed on the company's Youpin platform in China for 399 yuan (approximately $58), introduces a range of high-tech features to the traditional water flosser.
It is available in three colours-Gold, Twilight Gray, and Light Purple-catering to diverse aesthetic preferences. The device stands out with its innovative rotating nozzle that simultaneously emits two distinct streams of water: a central direct jet and an outer umbrella-shaped spray. Xiaomi asserts that this dual-stream design significantly increases cleaning coverage and can remove up to 99.99% of plaque. A small silicone guide on the nozzle tip assists users in accurately targeting the spaces between teeth.
Beyond its core dual-stream nozzle, the flosser comes with two additional attachments. The first is a microbubble nozzle that infuses air into the water stream, providing a gentler experience for users with sensitive gums. The second is an orthodontic nozzle equipped with bristles, specifically engineered to clean around braces and retainers effectively. On the technological front, the handle incorporates a compact color display.
This screen delivers real-time information such as the active cleaning mode, remaining battery life, and a built-in timer during use. The device includes four preset modes: Gentle, Standard, Strong, and Custom. For more granular control, users can connect the flosser to the Mijia smartphone application. Through the app, one can select from 10 water pressure levels, three pulse speeds, and three flow patterns-continuous, intermittent, and wave.
The app also logs usage frequency and session duration and can send motivational reminders to encourage consistent flossing habits. Physical design considerations emphasise versatility and convenience. The system features a modular water tank configuration. The integrated handle holds an 80mL reservoir, ensuring the device remains compact and suitable for travel.
For extended home use, a larger 220mL tank can be attached to the bottom. To further optimise portability, the nozzle is detachable and can be stored within the main body. Charging is handled via a standard USB-C port, with a full charge taking roughly four hours. Xiaomi claims the battery can endure up to 105 days on a single charge, underscoring the device's low-maintenance nature.
Additional features include an IPX8 waterproof rating, a travel lock to prevent accidental activation, an automatic two-minute shutoff timer, and a pressure stabilisation system that maintains consistent water flow even as the battery depletes. This launch follows Xiaomi's recent introduction of other Mijia-branded smart devices, such as the Desktop Photo Printer 2 and the Monitor Light Bar 2, highlighting the company's aggressive expansion into connected home and personal care products.
