Ex-Cheetahs prop WP Nel is back to boost Edinburgh’s front-row stocks for Saturday’s clash against the Lions at Ellis Park.
Nel, who missed Edinburgh’s 21-5 win over the Sharks on Saturday in Durban, is one of four Scotland internationals who have since joined the Scottish side’s tour group in South Africa, withThe Lions are riding high in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship after Friday’s 45-15 win over Ospreys – a third on the trot for the Johannesburg outfit.
“It’s great all four guys have linked up with the squad here in South Africa,” Edinburgh coach Mike Blair said. “Their experience will be key as we prepare to face a really strong Lions team that is playing with confidence. “We were obviously delighted with the win against Sharks on Saturday but it’s a new week and we’re now fully focused on the task at hand.
“We’ve got a massive week of training ahead of us in Durban before travelling to Johannesburg later this week.”
