World Goth Day started in 2009 as just Goth Day in the United Kingdom, a special set of shows on BBC Radio 6 dedicated to the dark sounds of Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees and other bands that put melancholy to music with haunting guitars and vocals.
