Connacht veteran Aki was one of the outstanding performers at France 2023
Bundee Aki's outstanding World Cup finals has earned the Connacht star a nomination for World Rugby player of the year, while Ireland boss Andy Farrell has been shortlisted for the coach of the year award.The Kiwi-born centre had a starring role in all five of Ireland's games in the tournament - in the four Pool B games and again in the last eight defeat to New Zealand.Aki played every minute of the five games and scored five tries.
The victor is likely to come from the World Cup winners, which means Etzebeth and Savea are the favourites to win the award.The 48-year-old's team won 12 matches in a row in 2023 before falling to the All Blacks at the Stade de France almost three weeks ago.
