Previously, we reported on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s promise to reconsider Touch ’n Go’s monopoly and how users may soon be able to pay for public transport using debit and credit cards. Well, another major announcement was made in regard to breaking Touch ’n Go’s monopoly, whereby users of 5 highways will be able to pay tolls using debit and credit cards by this September.
According to Bernama, the Works Minister said that the MLFF proof of concept will be carried out before the end of October this year. MLFF itself will be implemented in phases by the third quarter of 2024 at the latest. So, what do you guys think of this initiative by the Works Ministry?
